Leak detection in Perth costs from $895 with us for an outdoor hot or cold water leak. We agree the scope and fixed detection price before work starts. If it takes us six hours to find that leak, you pay the same agreed fee.

These prices include GST and are estimates. Every price is confirmed for your property before you book, and site conditions such as access, depth or the pipework we find can change it. Any change is agreed with you before we continue. See the Iplex Pro-fit guide if your home was built between 2017 and 2022. The sections below explain what the fixed price covers, how it compares with paying by the hour, and what sits outside it.

That is the reason we price the job this way. When you already have unexplained water loss, you should be able to make a decision with a known detection cost. Our responsibility is to find the leak efficiently. When the search takes longer, we carry the extra time.

What does “from $895” mean?

$895 is the starting price for outdoor hot and cold water leak detection. We discuss the property, suspected leak and access, then confirm the scope and your price before starting. The quote states the detection work you are booking.

Once that scope is agreed, additional time spent finding the leak does not become an hourly charge. A longer search, on its own, is our cost. If you ask us to investigate additional pipework outside the agreed scope, we discuss that separate work and its price before proceeding.

What would six hours cost at an hourly rate?

At an illustrative rate of $280 an hour, six hours of searching would be $1,680 in time charges. This is a worked example, not a claim about a named competitor or a market-wide rate. Real quotes may also differ in their call-out fees, inclusions and tax treatment.

If your agreed fixed detection price is $895, six hours within that scope still costs $895. One hour also costs $895. We are pricing the investigation and taking on the uncertainty of its duration.

An hourly job can cost less when a leak is found quickly. A fixed quote gives you a different benefit: you know the detection price before finding out how difficult the leak will be. Compare the total scope and conditions as well as the headline number.

Why is this a specialist offer rather than a budget offer?

Finding a hidden leak can involve choosing between acoustic equipment, thermal imaging and tracer gas, then following the evidence to the source. You are paying for that investigation and the certainty of the agreed price. A difficult search needs the right methods and enough time to use them.

We have a reason to get better at finding leaks: extra detection time reduces our return on the job. Passing that time back to you as another hourly charge would remove the certainty the fixed price is meant to provide.

For eligible outdoor leaks, there is also a no-find-no-fee guarantee. A minimum leak flow is required, and we confirm the requirement and eligibility before booking. The guarantee and the fixed price answer two separate concerns: whether we find the leak, and whether a longer search increases your fee.

How much does pool leak detection cost?

Pool leak detection starts at $1,300 and ranges up to $1,700. Pool size, access, connected pipework and the investigation scope help determine the quote. We confirm the work and price before the investigation starts.

A pool investigation has its own scope. Do not assume the outdoor pipe-leak guarantee or its flow condition covers a pool. Ask us to put any applicable pool guarantee conditions in the quote.

What is separate from the detection price?

Repair work, replacement parts, excavation and reinstatement are separate from detection. We locate the leak and explain the findings, then can coordinate a licensed repairing plumber. You receive a separate repair quote before authorising that work.

Before you book, ask for the total payable price, the detection scope and the guarantee conditions. That gives you something concrete to compare with another quote. Request my fixed detection quote.
