A six-hour investigation within the agreed scope carries the same detection fee as a one-hour investigation. The fixed quote gives us a reason to keep improving our methods, without charging you for the extra time.

What needs separate agreement
- Low-flow or intermittent leaks that may not meet the guarantee conditions.
- Additional leaks or pipework outside the agreed scope.
- Repair work, excavation and reinstatement.
We confirm the minimum leak flow and eligibility before you book. If the scope needs to change, we explain the change and agree any separate price before starting that work. Extra search time alone does not change the fixed fee.
Underground water leaks on buried pipes
Underground water leak detection covers the buried service pipe between your water meter and the house, and other buried hot and cold lines. These leaks often leave no wet ground. The first sign is usually a meter that keeps moving with every tap off, or a bill that climbs.
For buried pipes we start with acoustic listening. Water escaping a pressurised pipe makes a sound, and a ground microphone picks it up through soil, lawn and paving. We follow the line of the pipe to where the sound is strongest, then confirm with other methods, such as tracer gas, where the ground or pipe calls for it.
We document the leak position and explain the findings. Excavation and repair are separate work, quoted before you authorise them.

No. Outdoor hot and cold water leak detection starts at $895 for an agreed fixed-price detection scope. We confirm your quote before work starts. Additional time spent finding that leak does not create an hourly bill.
What if you spend six hours finding the leak?
You pay the same agreed detection fee. It is our responsibility to improve how we find leaks, and we carry the cost when the search takes longer.
Does every outdoor leak qualify for no-find-no-fee?
No. A minimum leak flow is required. We confirm the flow requirement and eligibility before you book. Low-flow or intermittent leaks need separate assessment. For an eligible leak within the agreed scope, no find means no detection fee.
Does the fixed price include the repair?
No. The quote covers the agreed detection work. Repair, excavation and reinstatement are separate work, quoted before you authorise them. We can coordinate a licensed repairing plumber.
